Verified Google Analytics Users Are Getting Verified On Google Search Console Automatically

Verifying websites in Google Search Console can be useful for site owners, and this is why Google wants to automatically verify them.

Being verified on Search Console allows webmasters to access information about how their website is performing on Google Search. Including the ability to get notifications when issues happened, such as when Googlebot is accidentally blocked or the site being hacked.

To ease the process of verification, and also to make more webmasters use Google Search Console, Google wants to automate the verification process. So if webmasters have verified their site on Google Analytics, Google is also verifying that property on Google Search Console.

What this means, webmasters don't have to manually request verification within Google Search Console, if they've already set up Analytics. This should streamlines the process of giving site owners access to Google Search Console.

Google Search Console - Google Analytics

Having webmasters' Search Console verified alongside Analytics allows them to get emails and notifications of issues directly sent to their inboxes.

These messages can include, and not limited to: manual actions, hacks, CMS upgrade alerts, as well as other notifications. This is to ensure webmasters have the insights they need to keep their website healthy, indexed and ranked.

According to Erez Bixon, a software engineer at Google:

"Once verified, Search Console compiles reports on the website’s performance in Search, including search queries, the website’s rankings, and the number of clicks and impressions. Additionally, there’s information about a site’s indexing, the status of various implemented features on the website, as well as reports and notifications of critical issues."

If for any reason webmasters don't want to be verified for Search Console, they can easily remove the property directly in Search Console.
