Being On OnlyFans Earn Her More Money Than A World Tour, Singer Kate Nash Said

Kate Nash is an English singer-songwriter and actress.

Born in 1987, she debuted in 2005, by uploading several of her own songs to the social media MySpace, she released her first single in 2007, before receiving attention from big labels. Her first album, Made of Bricks, reached number one in the UK and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.

For her works, she earned several recognitions, including the BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist, the ASCAP Vanguard Award and the Q Award for Breakthrough Artist. Her songs also received nominations and even won a UK Music Video Award for Best Pop Video.

She has also been recognized by the Elle Style Awards, the NME Awards and the Vodafone Live Music Awards.

As of 2013, Kate has received eight awards from fifteen nominations.

While she's a well-recognized figure in the entertainment industry, her fame doesn't really translate to fortune.

In fact, Kate said that she's losing money on her tours.

The 37-year-old singer said that she would be making more money from selling personal photos of her buttocks on OnlyFans, than she would from her concerts.

Announcing her OnlyFans launch under the slogan "Butts for tour buses," Kate explained her earnings would help fund her shows during what she calls "a really difficult time for artists to tour".

She said that her income from selling raunchy photos to her subscribers on OnlyFans would subsidize her shows because "touring makes losses not profits".

She believes that sharing the photos In other words, Kate believes that being on the platform can offset her tour losses.

"I also think it's bit of a punk protest as a woman to take control of my body and sell it to be able to fund my passion project, which is actually my 18-year career," she explained.

"I want to highlight that, and I want people to talk about it, and I want people to know the truth about what what's happening in the music business."

She said this during an interview, just after she finished her three-week tour to the U.S., and was just starting her UK tour starting in Glasgow, before moving on to Europe.

"I'm losing money from those tours," she said.

"The only way I could find to make a profit on the tour - you're either going, hopefully I sell enough T-shirts to cover the debt, or you cut people's wages, or you fire band and crew, or you travel dangerously."

As for the reason why her earnings decrease, she blamed it on the costs she had to pay for her shows to happen.

"Festival prices and ticket prices have gone up drastically, but the musicians' wage hasn't," she said.

"So you might be playing a venue that you've played multiple times and you can sell it out, [but] you're getting the same fee that you did 10 years ago, probably. But all the other costs have gone up."

In fact, the rising costs have forced other fellow singers, like Rachel Chinouriri, Ratboy and The Duke Spirit singer Liela Moss to cancel their shows.

She also said that she's not earning much on streaming platforms, like Spotify, either.

"No need to stream my music, I’m good for the 0.003 of a penny per stream thanks," she added.

It's worth noting that despite she could earn more money by selling photos on OnlyFans than singing, she stated that she doesn't want to sacrifice the quality of her shows.

"So that leaves me in a position where I'm not profiting from tours. So is this a job, or is it a passion project?"

Regardless, she said that it's "an important time for women to take control and to feel empowered," a message she that echoes many other OnlyFans creators.

"I'm going to probably make more money doing that than the music over the next three months," suggesting indirectly that musicians, like herself, can learn from sex workers.

"You've got all this control, and you're deciding what you want to do and how you want to do it, and people want to pay you for it."

"We just haven't taught any of those lessons to anyone with music and art - that art is so valuable and so worthwhile in our lives and so meaningful. We’re totally happy to devalue it."

"Where can we learn from the sex workers? Maybe we can learn something from this industry. How do we get empowered as artists and take a bit more control?"

While OnlyFans is known for being pornographic, she said that her photos aren't anything like that, and far from explicit.

"I think the arse is the perfect combination of comedy and sexuality," she said.

"I actually like bums. I think they're just quite great. I think it's funny. I enjoy taking pictures of my bum. Always been a bit of a flasher. So I'm going to enjoy doing it, and I'm already putting it online anyway."

Before this, Lily Allen, another singer from the UK who has received 31 awards and 73 nominations for her music, also revealed that she is earning more money on OnlyFans than when she is performing.

But unlike Kate who posts photos of her derriere, Lily posts photos of her feet.
