Google Android users have long benefited with the ecosystem that allows them to sideload apps pretty easily. But for users owning Apple's iOS devices that include iPhones, sideloading apps isn't an easy task to do.
With a war between Epic Games and Apple, the former hopes to defend the many developers and users that have been unfairly treated by the latter. And here Epic has its Fortnite apps removed from the App Store.
Because of this, new users to new iPhones may not install Fortnite.
As a result, those iPhone users who are already playing Fortnite on their iPhones see this as an opportunity to make quick money, considering how popular Fortnite is.
On eBay, the platform known to be a place for a lot of weird things on sale, including a gigayacht in the past, people started listing their used iPhones with the now-verboten game installed for premium prices.
Simply because there is no easy way to install Fortnite on iPhones, the sellers are not hesitating to ask ridiculous price tags for them.

Those sellers are listing their used iPhones for more than a thousand dollars. The price can go up to as high as $10,000 for a two-year-old iPhone X with the game already on it, for example.
The overly-priced iPhones not only include used phones, as used and older phones are also on sale.
The only one feature they have in common is an install of Fortnite.
And it seems that those iPhone owners aren't only flocking on eBay, as similar listings are also found on sites like LetGo and OfferUp, with the same prices.
While people having the money and a huge fan of Epic's Fortnite game can certainly pay to get what they want, it should be noted that as long as Apple bans Fortnite, Epic can no longer support the game.
What this means, the game installed on those phones will soon go outdated, whether from the lack of security or feature. Apple can also render the game unplayable on the next iOS update.
A similar thing happened in the past, most notably when Flappy Bird was taken down. Phones with the game installed were also sold at exorbitant prices.
