Motorola for Google

22/05/2012

Motorola, Inc. was an American multinational telecommunications company based in Schaumburg, Illinois. Motorola's wireless telephone handset division was a pioneer in mobile phones with its "flip phone" and "clam phone" in the mid-1990s. Motorola that had been successful in the mid-2000s, lost significant market share in the second half of that decade.

The company was later divided into Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions. On May 22, 2012, Google CEO Larry Page announced that Google closed on its deal to acquire Motorola Mobility. And on November 17, Motorola Mobility stockholders approved the proposed merger with Google Inc. for $12.5 billion.
