Personal Information Of 7 Million Indonesians Stolen By Indian Hackers: 'Nobody Cares' Before Retaliation

It all started when NWH Security claimed to have stolen, and also leaked the database of 7 million Indonesian citizens.

The hacker group from India did that in retaliation.

This is because previously, it's reported that Indonesian hacking group, Hacktivis Indonesia, boasted that they've hacked a number of India's government websites and media outlets. The hack that happened in May 24, defaced the websites, showing the message: "Hacktivis Indonesia was here!!"

"They also hacked multiple Indian government and Indian sites and leaked databases and credentials onto the dark web," a media publication said.

And here, the Indian NWH Security shared screenshots, showing samples of the stolen data.

"Hey kids, this is just a sample. If you don't stop attack then we will f*ck next level," the post said.

They also made threats about making more hacks, more dangerous and devastating ones, if Indonesia doesn't respond."

Others suggest that the hackers from India are in vain hacking the personal data belonging to the Indonesian people.

"If you want to hack, hack other countries, like Singapore or Australia," said one person.

Many people suggested the Indian hackers to hack data belonging to citizens of developed countries, because in Indonesia, personal data of Indonesian residents is already circulating freely, on the streets and everywhere to food stalls and photocopying places.

Some even use it as baking papers for corn fritters, said another.

"Nobody cares," said another.

But again, a hack is a hack, and that damage is done.

In a retaliation that makes things even murkier, another Indonesian hacking group is making themselves involved.

In an attempt to mock NVH Security, the Indonesian VulzSec hacking group managed to deface another Indian government website.

It's long known that hacking groups are always on the move seeking easy targets, and make relentless attempts to steal, if not exploit systems they want to conquer.

And hackers in both India and Indonesia have been targeting each other for quite some times.

Before, Hacktivist Indonesia claimed to have hacked and defaced 12.000 websites from India, following the moment Yati Narsinghanad Giri made fun of Islam. Indonesian hackers have also claimed to have hacked the systems of Icici Bank

"Note for Indonesian hacker, stop targeting Indian sites," wrote Anonymous India in a Telegram post.

As for hackers of India, they've claimed to have hacked the systems of a university in Medan, North Sumatera, for example.

"Soon we post some critical data of Medan Universities," they said, adding that they have in their hands complete information about undergraduates and graduates, as well as their grades.
