'The Flash' Gets Great Reviews, But The Internet And Social Media Hate It

The Flash is one of the most awaited movies for DC comics fans.

The film that follows Barry Allen, the Flash, a young man portrayed by Ezra Miller, who travels back in time. Since the very beginning, since the first posters were shared, and the first trailers were uploaded, the internet simply couldn't wait.

Fans were extremely eager for the release.

For good reasons, this is the first Flash film after Ezra was caught in an assault case, and that it's because the trailers showed how Flash and other superheroes go head face-to-face against General Zod, a Kryptonian supervillain who is threatening annihilation on Earth.

But when the film was out, fans were happy, but many were also sad.

Because of that, they're bringing their joy and disappointment to the internet, making The Flash a trending topic on various social media platforms.

Following Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that introduced the concept of multiverse into the wide screen, DC Extended Universe (DCEU) also wished to taste the benefits of having the ability to introduce more characters, made through different timelines, though their own universes.

This, should result in more action, and more fun, and more revenue.

This is apparently true.

Fans are also happy because they can finally see their favorite superheroes.

From The Flash himself, Ben Affleck as Batman in his universe, to Michael Keaton as the older Batman in the different universe; Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and more.

It received positive reviews on various review aggregator websites, and even received a nomination for 'Best Teaser' at the 2022 Golden Trailer Awards.

But that's about it.

While The Flash received praise for its action sequences, humor and performances, fans hate the bad graphics, and poor CGI.

And people are complaining about this on social media platforms, right on the day of the film's release to theater.

Not only that they commented harshly, they even make spoilers.

For example, many revealed things the trailers didn't show, like the presence of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, who helped both Flash and Batman early in the film; to Jason Momoa as Aquaman, who only appeared at the end credit scene.

Many also shared how Nicolas Cage made a cameo appearance as an alternate version Superman. This happened because Nicolas was originally cast as Superman in Tim Burton's unproduced film Superman Lives.

Then, there is George Clooney, who appears uncredited as the new DCEU version of Bruce Wayne. This happened because Clooney previously portrayed a different version of the character in Joel Schumacher’s 1997 Batman & Robin.

Not to mention, there are also spoilers about Christopher Reeve and George Reeves as Superman, Helen Slater as Supergirl , Adam West as Batman, and more.

Many of the aforementioned casts in the film were created using AI and deepfake technology, which explains the poor graphics, many have said to be worse than that on modern games.

The Flash running faster than the speed of light
The Flash running faster than the speed of light, allows him to travel to different universes, and back and forth in time, creating a "spaghetti" - like multiverses that are bendable.

The Flash is intended to be the 13th installment in the DCEU.

Directed by Andy Muschietti, the Flash character Barry Allen helps Batman, and then revisiting his childhood home where he gets flashbacks of his parents before his mother was killed.

Barry was so indulged into his emotions that he ran so fast that he surpassed the speed of light. Barry accidentally travels back in time earlier in the day and informs Bruce Wayne about it.

Despite Bruce’s warnings, Barry goes back to the day of his mother's death, and tries to prevent it from happening.

This brings unintended consequences that Barry has to solve, especially when he is robbed from his powers, after helping his alternate younger self gain his powers.

In the end, Barry has to rely on his younger self, the older Batman, and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl, to save the world from General Zod, before returning to his own universe.

Barry also has to face his corrupted version of 2013-Barry.

The Flash premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on June 12, 2023, and will be released in the United States on June 16, following multiple delays caused by director changes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and post-production setbacks.
