Jeff Bezos is already the richest man by a long run.

While he isn't the first centibillionaire, the Amazon founder managed to surpassed everyone fairly quickly.

Even after his 'costly' divorce in which Bezos agreed to give MacKenzie Scott 25% of his Amazon stake, Bezos managed to skyrocket his wealth to set another record.

The Amazon CEO's wealth reached an estimated $202 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index. This happened after Amazon's shares soared.

This makes Bezos the richest person Forbes has ever recorded in its nearly four decades of tracking billionaires, and the richest person in the modern, technology-driven Earth.

Bezos reaching this milestone, makes him about $80 billion richer than the world's second-richest person, Bill Gates, who is at this time worth $116 billion.

Bezos also owns Blue Origin, the space travel company he founded in 2000, and The Washington Post newspaper, which he acquired in 2013.

But still, Amazon has been Bezo's main source of wealth. Amazon has also been one of multiple driving forces for the S&P 500 index to recently reach an all-time high, even during a recession caused by the 'COVID-19' coronavirus pandemic.

As people rely more on the internet than ever for work and buying things, the Amazon founder isn’t alone in the ultra elite club.

In fourth place, is Tesla founder Elon Musk.

Previously, Scott signed the Giving Pledge, an initiative started by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates to encourage the rich to donate the bulk of their fortunes to charity.

Scott also announced that she had given nearly $1.7 billion of her wealth to 116 nonprofit organizations in the U.S..
