Deception, Consent, And Viral Betrayal: The 'Argentina Casting' Scheme That Turned Private Lives Into Public Spectacle

22/04/2026

In the bustling yet unassuming city of Rosario, Argentina, a 30-year-old man named Gianfranco Gaspar Núñez built what he presented as a straightforward opportunity in the audiovisual world.

Posing as a producer through Instagram accounts like "ArgentinaCasting," he reached out directly to young women, primarily aged 18 to 22.

The offer was enticing in its simplicity: around $200 paid in cash or by transfer, along with promises of fame and professional exposure.

It was the kind of pitch that sounded almost too good to be true.

The stated condition was that they consent to being filmed for explicit content. And many agreed to it.

Many signed contracts granting him irrevocable rights to edit, sell, and distribute the footage, often with broad control clauses. Núñez assured them the material would be distributed and monetized exclusively overseas, far from Argentine shores, so their faces and personal lives would remain protected from anyone back home.

This, however, was later proven to be a lie.

During the shoots, Núñez frequently appeared as the male performer.

Sessions typically began with a brief interview before transitioning into recorded sexual activity, often without protection, with the man finishing inside the women. Multiple cameras captured the encounters, sometimes operated by Núñez himself. Afterward, the women were paid and left, while Núñez retained the raw footage and full rights to it.

In other words, these women are ordinary women, not professional performers, but individuals who agreed to paid adult content filming.

But what began as seemingly consensual transactions quickly soured.

Despite the promises and the signed contracts, Núñez edited and uploaded the videos to open adult platforms, where they spread rapidly, not only across Argentina, but internationally.

Over 150 explicit videos were eventually seized by investigators.

The footage was explicit: unfiltered recordings of the encounters, the inclusion of identifying personal details and candid on-camera disclosures about their relationships (some openly laughing on camera about having boyfriends or husbands, treating the secrecy as thrilling), and an overall casual atmosphere that clashed with the "professional gig" pitch.

The content did not stay contained to just the adult industry.

This is because the virality of the content eventually reached partners, families, friends, and communities.

Women who had stable lives, some with boyfriends, husbands, and even children, suddenly saw their most intimate moments exposed in their own country.

Relationships fractured overnight, reputations were shattered, and many faced relentless online harassment, doxxing, and public shaming.

The internet, as always, was unforgiving.

With the women's names and footage online, people paired their headshots with their everyday social media photos (often depicting them smiling alongside their partners), as well as with the stills from their hardcore scenes.

One detail that particularly fueled the viral outrage: some of the women arrived at the filming sessions wearing the same clothes they had just posted in their personal Instagram photos: cute and casual outfits while posing with their partners. This could mean one thing: the posts and the shoots allegedly happened on the same day or within hours.

This made the contrast more shocking once the videos leaked locally: the same recognizable outfit from innocent couple photos appearing in explicit content.

The contrast turned private choices into public spectacles.

This also highlighted how casual and last-minute the decision often was for participants, making the local leak even more devastating.

Some of the women have spoken out to clarify some of the things, like saying that they acted of their own will and expressed frustration at the public backlash, and claims men have "no power" over them. Besides feeling empowered by her themselves, and sick of the people who humiliate them. Some said that they did what they did in order to pay a debt, and others.

But again, the internet being the internet, remains unsympathetic.

These findings became a meme-like talking point, reinforcing the perception that many of the women approached the work as a quick side gig rather than a carefully planned endeavor, which made the broken "only abroad" promise even more devastating when the videos spread locally.

Debate has also emerged over the extent of responsibility, with some arguing that the women participated voluntarily for payment, while others emphasize the role of deception and question whether their consent was fully informed.

The scheme came to light through an anonymous tip to Línea 145, Argentina’s national hotline for human trafficking and exploitation.

The complaint triggered a formal federal investigation by the Procuraduría de Trata y Explotación de Personas (PROTEX) and the Policía Federal Argentina. Investigators linked the Instagram accounts to Núñez via phone numbers, IP addresses, and other digital traces.

They also discovered a public Telegram group he used to promote and sell the videos.

They also found evidence that he paid the women a one-time fee (around $200 or equivalent in pesos) but then distributed the content widely online, including inside Argentina, contrary to his promises.

Some reports also mention an earlier related complaint in September 2024 involving a large payment (half a million pesos) to one woman for filming.

This led to "Operation Casting para Preso," with coordinated raids in Rosario, Buenos Aires, and Misiones.

On March 27, 2026, Núñez was arrested in Rosario and placed in preventive detention for 90 days.

He faces charges of aggravated human trafficking for sexual exploitation and promotion of prostitution, amid Argentina's economic crisis where his payments tempt many amid high inflation and poverty.

At least eight victims (mostly aged 18–19) have been formally identified so far, with investigators seeking more. Court documents emphasized the deceptive tactics: false assurances about limited distribution, the allure of quick money, and the power imbalance he held over the final product.

Some women also reported incomplete payments.

Núñez’s own background added to the public fascination and outrage.

ArgentinaCasting

A Rosario native who openly identified as a Peronist, a supporter of Peronism (or Justicialism), a multifaceted Argentine political movement. It is based on the legacy and ideas of former President Juan Domingo Perón and his wife, Eva "Evita" Perón.

On social media, he seems to enjoy a party lifestyle, appeared as a chef, and has a girlfriend.

Among some other reasons, these things, and the fact that he targeted women already in committed relationships, amplified the humiliation when the videos leaked locally.

It's worth noting that while some online voices argued the women were consenting adults who bore responsibility for their choices (and were naïve to believe digital content could be geographically contained), prosecutors focused on the elements of deception, manipulation, and resulting harm as elevating the acts to criminal exploitation.

In the meantime, Núñez remains in preventive detention in Rosario, on federal charges that initially included aggravated human trafficking for exploitation through digital platforms. The federal appeals court later dropped the human trafficking accusation, accepting the defense argument that the women knew they were filming explicit content and that the massive publicity from the scandal had effectively delivered the fame and visibility promised in the contracts.

However, the court upheld his detention on the separate charge of promotion and facilitation of prostitution by others.

Preventive detention was initially set for 90 days and later adjusted, but it continues while the investigation proceeds.

His lawyers have claimed they expect this remaining charge to be dismissed soon and insist no crime occurred, yet no court has ordered his release or dropped all charges.

Prior to this case, a similar scandal had already shaken the internet in 2025, when a creator behind the GirlsDoPorn operation was sentenced.

The fallout from that scheme was far-reaching: one of its many victims, Miss Delaware Teen USA, lost her title after being identified in the videos, while another ex–beauty pageant contestant filed a lawsuit against Pornhub, alleging the platform profited from a video of her assault.
